The members of the Upper Allen Fire Department would like to say congratulations to our team the Rockhounds of the Upper Allen Baseball association as they won the Championship game on Tuesday night. This is the 1st year the UAFD sponsored a team as a way to get out and try and gain some younger members in the FD. Following the team was a hugh success and our members really enjoyed rallying around our team and showing support. On Tuesday we played a really tough team in the Yardbirds and the game was outstanding. After falling down 6-1 in the 2nd inning our rockhounds came storming back with some great hits and outstanding base running. As a couple of UAFD members were in attendance it was fun to be around the team and hear the coaches communicate with the team always telling them “Believe and you can do it”.
The game ended 12- 10 with our rockhounds on top as CHAMPIONS. As the last pitch was thrown the ladder truck in attendance gave the team some sirens and lights as the kids celebrated on field. After that the entire team came rushing out to the truck and climbed inside and were so excited it was awesome to see. Coach Kyle had to come and get the team back to the field to receive their trophies.
