Last night was the final night of training at the acquired structures! We came across something unusual that we don’t normally see in construction, which makes it difficult for firefighters when they are out on a call. We found a roof built over a roof. From the picture of the side of the house you can see they added on to the rear of the house, so they just put a new roof over the old to cover the addition. This creates a void space that sometimes fire hides in and makes it harder to vertically vent the roof.
