Rider Qualifications

On Saturday, January 6, before and during the beginning of the snowfall, members participated in a “drill day” to do their rider qualifications. This is completed annually by all active firefighters in order to ensure they can perform a list of tasks required of them to be a firefighter.

Thank you so much to our Support Force for cooking us a delicious breakfast, and a grilled cheese and tomato soup lunch to warm up with after being outside in the cold. Also thanks to Joanne for always capturing such great photos.

Weekend Factory Training

This weekend, UAFD had our factory training on our new truck, which was very beneficial as we learned a lot about its operation. We were able to play around with setting up the truck different ways with the aerial technician there to ask questions to. This was the next step in being able to get our truck put into service. Tomorrow, the truck goes to Glick to have tools mounted.

Thank you to Brian Verhagen from Pierce Mfg. for providing this training to us! Also, thank you to the UAFD Support Force for providing us with breakfast and lunch.

Life Saving Award

Last night, heroes emerged in Upper Allen! Members of the Upper Allen Fire Department, Upper Allen Police, and a local citizen were awarded for their life-saving actions.

Congratulations to these brave individuals – our community is safer and stronger because of you!
