December 10, 2006: The UAFD had a busy morning with a crash and fire alarm. The first hit was to respond to the PA Turnpike at milepost 236 for a vehicle crash. The vehicle left the roadway and was behind the Tyco Building. Chief 33 (New Kingston) asked us to respond to that area. While en route to that location the UAFD was hit for an automatic fire alarm on the 500 block of Geneva Drive. Engine 123 (Salter) arrived at the Geneva Greens complex at the community center. Lt. 323 (Padfield) found water leaking from the building in the community room and forced entry into building to isolate the power and shut down the sprinkler system. Truck 23 (Kunkel) arrived to assist with salvage. Crews cut a small hole in ceiling to drain the water lying on top of the ceiling. After the problems were addressed with complex staff, the UAFD returned to service at 11:48 am.
