January 18, 2007: The UAFD was called out to the 1000 block of Brookwood Drive for a kitchen fire at 7:58 pm. Chief 23 (Kunkel) went responding and was informed that building was being evacuated. Lisburn FD (#24) arrived on scene with smoke showing. Engine 24 laid a supply line from the end of the driveway and Engine 223 (Salter) was to pick-up their line. The crew from Engine 223 assisted Engine 24 with interior operations. Truck 23 (Padfield) and units from Lower Allen and Citizens also were on scene to assist. In the end it was learned that the fire was extinguished by the police department using a dry chem extinguisher prior to the fire department’s arrival. The crews completed overhaul and checked for extension before returning to service at 8:58 pm.
