February 2, 2007: The UAFD was called to the new Turnpike Plaza Building for a structure fire at 12:32 pm. Chief 123 (Salter) arrived on scene to find workers on the roof using dry chemical extinguishers trying to extinguish the fire. Engine 223 (Kaminski) arrived on scene and established a water supply and pulled a handline. Truck 23 (Casper) set up and crews went to the roof to open up around a vent from an Emergency Generator that was running and caused the fire in the roof. Crews from Fairvew Township #68, Citizens of Mechanicsburg #27, New Kingstown #33, Union of Carlisle #41 and New Cumberland #10 assisted on the scene. Crews worked on making sure there was no extension into other parts of the facility before returning to service at 1:53 pm.
