The Fire Keeps Coming

February 25, 2007: As the snow began to fall across the area Truck 23 (Kremer) was alerted at 11:07 to transfer to Station 36 (Mt. Holly) while they were out at a multi-alarm commercial building fire in Adams County. At 13:47 the Truck and Mt. Holly area units were alerted for a garage fire in the area of 15 Mountain Street (Mt. Holly). The Truck arrived behind Engine 236 and began to open up the building for the Engine crew. The Truck cleared the scene of the fire and returned to Station 36 until being released from the transfer around 16:00. While the Truck was returning to the Township, the UAFD was dispatched for an automatic fire alarm at Burger King. Engine 223 (Lyons) arrived and found that a toaster had been smoking and was unplugged prior to FD arrival. Crews checked for extension and ventilated the building before returning to service within 30 minutes. Around 18:47 Truck 23 (Kremer) was dispatched to the Kampel Airport (Warrington Twp., York County) for a three alarm building fire. The Truck responded at dispatch and arrived to find heavy smoke coming from a large aircraft hanger and workshop. Crews assisted the first due Truck with opening the building up and then assisted with overhauling the woodshop area where the main body of fire was located. Engine 223 (Murphy) was also special called to the scene to provide manpower to assist with operations. The Truck and Engine returned to service around 22:00.
