June 19, 2007: The Upper Allen Fire Department had an unusually busy night on Tuesday after severe weather struck the area. The department responded to 15 calls in a 5 hours time span. The calls included automatic alarms, water in basements, stranded motorists, smoke conditions, and homes struck by lightning. We were not spared the wrath of the storm ourselves. The fire station roof sprung a significant leak and we scrambled to take care of our equipment as well. Luckily, throughout the entire event, no one suffered significant injury.
