Memorial Day 2015

Memorial Day is much more than just an extended weekend. Memorial Day, which started after the Civil War in 1868, was created to honor Americans who died while fighting for their country.

UAFD hopes you and your families enjoy your Memorial Day weekend and are also able to take a moment to remember, honor, and thank those who have served our great country.

Our freedoms were not free. They were defended and earned.

“There is nothing wrong with America that the faith, love of freedom, intelligence, and energy of her citizens can not cure.” — Dwight David Eisenhower

We will never be able to pay them back for what they gave but we can pay our respects to the ones who’ve gone before and exercise our freedoms with thought and gratitude in simple, American traditions.
