September 29, 2007: On Saturday, firefighters capped off a pump operations class by participating in various practical scenarios. The class was instructed by Don Chesbro, a veteran firefighter and instructor. Students had the opportunity to draft from the creek at Messiah College and then from a township hydrant. It gave many people the chance to learn to operate the pump and understand the practical application of hydraulics. Additionally, completing the pump operations class allows members to advance in their apparatus driver training.
