Early Thanksgiving Morning Fire

November 28, 2019  While most people were sleeping dreaming of Turkey and Stuffing the hard working VOLUNTEER firefighters of Upper Allen Twp. Fire Department and surrounding companies worked on 3 calls over night.  Starting at 12:48am UAFD was dispatched to an Automatic Fire Alarm in Lower Allen Twp. right after that dispatch 2 minutes later were called to reported wires down with a field fire in the Allenview Development.  Chief 23 arrived to find approximately 32 acres of field being Allenview on fire from a transformer that blew. The Chief asked for 4 additional tankers and brush units to scene.  Engine 23 arrived along with Tanker 23 to start working on extinguishing the fire. Additional units included Tanker 24, Mini Pumper 24, Mini Pumper 33, Brush 67 and Utility 23/ATV 23 all helped with operations on scene. All departments finished up and went back to stations for clean up around 2:40am.  At 2:57am UAFD was dispatched to 458 Allenview Dr. for another field fire and units went back out. Chief 23 arrived on scene finding another large fire and asked for assistance from Mini Pumper 24 and Brush 67 again with UAFD Engine, Tanker and Utility and ATV.  Most of the fire was put out by UAFD members using brush rakes.  All units cleared and returned to clean up a 2nd time and left the station at 4:17am to return to their home.  It was a very long and busy early morning.  Thank you to the members that came out and took time to help!
