November 4, 2023: Fire

Last night, Engine, Squad, Tanker, and Traffic 23 rushed to Monaghan township to battle a house fire. Engine 23 was quick to arrive, stretching a second line to help with the fire attack, while Squad 23 helped with the extensive cleanup, and Traffic 23 managed traffic control. Our dedicated teams were on the scene for just over an hour.

A huge shoutout to the West Shore Bureau of Fire for sending over an Engine to help cover our township!

And, of course, a big thank you to our fantastic Upper Allen Support Force for whipping up some delicious grub for our hardworking members upon their return!

Tuesday, October 31 Training: Vehicle Extrication Skills

During tonight’s weekly training, members practiced their vehicle extrication skills. We had two vehicles set up to simulate different crash scenarios: overturned and upright.

The firefighters utilized hydraulic tools, various methods of stabilization, and hand tools to perform the duties that may be needed at an actual crash scene.

Thank you to Simon Hertzler at CH Recovery for providing the cars for our training.
