Friday evening, February 3rd, UAFD and surrounding mutual add departments were alerted for a mobile home fire on Cumberland Parkway. While units were responding, the incident was upgraded to a building fire as the mobile home fire had spread to the adjacent motel. Assistant Chief went on scene with a working fire and assumed command, asking for second alarm. Truck companies on scene were able to affect a “trench cut” in the roof at the edge of the fire spread to save the rest of the motel. Units remained on scene for about six hours.
