Early on the morning of February 14th, UAFD was dispatched to a reported vehicle fire at Turkey Hill. Chief 23 arrived to find a fully involved truck still next to the pumps. Crews from both the tanker and squad were assisted by Mechanicsburg Borough Fire Department in extinguishing the fire. No damage was done to the pumps, and they were operational later that day. Firefighters remained on the scene for about 1.5 hours.
On Feb 12th, UAFD responded to a house on Keefer Way for a CO alarm. Crew on both Engine 23 & Truck 23 arrived to find CO on the 1st and 2nd floor. The cause was determined to be a malfunctioning oven which firefighters were able to isolate and ventilate.
On Tuesday, February 1st, members attended the annual CPR/AED first aid training to renew their certification. This training is utilized when responding to assist on medical calls.
