June 25 Training: Tanker Operations

Upper Allen Fire Department members trained on tanker operations. This training is a great refresher for the older members and a new operation for the newer members. This operation also gave student drivers the ability to drive and operate Tanker 23 as if they were on an emergency scene in a rural area.

June 21 Car Accident

Last night, Squad 23, Engine 23 and Traffic 23 responded to a two vehicle crash on Cumberland Parkway at Gettysburg Pike. Crews handled fluid clean up, traffic control, and assisted with patient care. Company 23 was on scene for about 45 minutes.

Award Night For One of Our Own

On Wednesday night, our Assistant Chief Kris Kaminski was honored at the Kimberly Ann Fahnestock-Voelz Memorial Post 7530 for being named both the National and Pennsylvania 911 Dispatcher of the Year for the Veterans of Foreign Wars. In addition to these awards, he was also presented with a VFW Commendation Medal with Citation.
PA State Rep. Thomas Kutz presented a flag of the Commonwealth that was flown over the State Capital building for a month in Kris’ honor, along with a Citation from the House of Representatives and Formal Greetings and Congratulations from Senator Mike Regan.
Please join UAFD in congratulating Asst. Chief Kaminski for this well deserved award. If you have listened to a fire, EMS, or police radio in Cumberland County, you most certainly know his voice. We are proud of you Chief!

Jubilee Day Training

Last evening, Squad 23, Truck 23, and Traffic 23 joined Company 29 (Mechanicsburg Fire Department) for a combined department training session. With Jubilee Day coming up on June 20th, it is imperative to prepare for possible emergencies. Crews stretched long-distance hose lines and completed run-ins that simulated what could be needed in the event of a structure fire on Jubilee Day.
