December 1, 2023 Duty Night

The last Thursday’s of the month are for Duty Nights at the station!

Whether we’re honing our skills with extra training, tackling station chores, or just relaxing and catching up, it’s a night to strengthen our team.

Last night, our members focused on handline deployment and pumping skills during Engine Company run-ins.

Update on the 2023 Santa Run

UAFD again apologizes for having to cancel our Santa run this year. Unfortunately, our new ladder truck is not yet in service. Our factory training (where the manufacturer comes to train us) is scheduled for the weekend of 12/16-12/17. Our active firefighters must spend the weekend, a week before Christmas, learning how to operate our new truck. It also still needs to have tools mounted, radios installed, etc. before it will be ready for operation and we are at the mercy of the companies’ schedules that provide those services.

Please also remember, we are all VOLUNTEERS that spend countless dedicated hours to ensure we are trained to respond in emergency situations. That is and always will be our main focus. We do as much as we can for the community in addition to that, but we all have careers, families, and other obligations just like all of you. It is disheartening for our members to have to read comments of people accusing us of lying and not caring. That is simply not true, and that is what will make our volunteers not want to do things like this anymore.

We wish everyone a safe, healthy, joyous holiday season.

Santa’s Sleigh Under Repairs

Dear community members,

We regret to inform you that Santa’s sleigh is currently undergoing repairs and, unfortunately, he won’t be able to make his usual neighborhood visits this year. We understand how much joy this tradition brings, and we share in the disappointment.

Santa wants to assure everyone that he’s looking forward to spreading holiday cheer next year. Until then, we appreciate your understanding and support. Wishing you a safe and joyful holiday season!

Best regards,
Upper Allen Fire Department

New Ladder Truck is Home

Exciting news! Upper Allen Fire Department’s new ladder truck has been home since last week.

We’re thrilled to enhance our capabilities and look forward to continuing to serve our community and neighboring townships with this advanced addition.

Special thanks to Dale Feehrer for capturing stunning photos of our new ladder truck. Now, we dive into the intricate phases of radio mounting, tool mounting, and training to prepare it for service.

UAFD extends gratitude to Upper Allen Township commissioners and residents for their pivotal role in bringing this truck to life. It’s a community asset we’re proud of. Kudos to our dedicated Apparatus Committee for their countless volunteer hours, design efforts, and those two trips to Wisconsin.

A shoutout to GLICK and our salesman, Cyle Sheaffer, for their invaluable assistance in streamlining the entire process. Your support is truly appreciated.
